Look at the location from inside and outside

Photograph the proposed equipment position and show nearby doors, windows and outdoor seating. For a heat pump, discuss operating sound and the manufacturer’s placement instructions before settling on a spot. For a whole-home filter, ask whether the chosen location makes inspection and cartridge changes straightforward without blocking the path people use each day.

Find the treatment boundary

Tell us if the dwelling is detached, a duplex or part of a shared property. Before a whole-home system is quoted, the connection serving your home needs to be understood. An accessible line is not automatically the correct line. Ask which outlets would receive treatment and which, if any, would remain outside the proposed installation.

Make the quote easy to compare

Request separate descriptions for equipment, installation work and future maintenance. If considering both filtration and heat pump hot water, compare the purpose of each rather than treating them as one indistinguishable package. Ask how much space remains for future service visits and whether any enclosure or screening is appropriate for the equipment.

Have these ready for your enquiry

Can equipment be screened to suit my outdoor area?

Discuss it before installation. Screening must not undermine the equipment’s required clearance, airflow, safety or service access. The product instructions and actual site determine the answer.
